Under 16's latest 22nd September 2008

Our Under 16's suffered another Eastern Junior Alliance - London Division defeat yesterday when they lost 2-4 to the Norsemen.

Manager Stuart Cook reports - Another slow start from Barking and they found themselves one down after 15 minutes this stayed the same until half time with few chances in the first half. Norseman then made it 2-0, Barking then changed from a 4-4-2 to a 3-5-2 formatin and a Danny FORD free kick put barking back in the game and with 15 left a Leon SMITH free kick made it 2-2. Barking went for a winner but 2 break away goals gave Norsemen victory.

Next week the Under 16's take a break from the league and hit the cup trail when they travel to Russellers FC in the preliminary round of the London Youth Cup.

Under 16's lose first game 15th September 2008

The Under 16's started their Eastern Junior Alliance - London Division season yesterday but unfortunately slumped to a 2-6 home defeat at the hands of their Thurrock counterparts

Manager Stuart Cook commented: "A very disapointing result after playing so well in the first half and leading 1-0. Certain players forgot their jobs with five of the six goals coming from individual errors, the bright spots where captain Sam Bradley and the midfield pairing of Danny Ford and Edward O’Neill." Barking's goals came from Afolabi AJIBAWO and Sanmi ODELUSI

Next week the Under 16's are in league action again when they are away to the exotic sounding Norsemen.

The Under 16's play all of their home games at Eastbury School, Rosslyn Road, Barking, IG11 9UW and kick-off at 11am.

Ladies Under 10s Festival day 8th September 2008

Barking Ladies held an open day for Under 10’s on Saturday September 6th.  Working with the Essex FA, The Ladies have been recruiting players to play this season in newly formed Under 10 local league.
Teams from surrounding borough’s attended Mayesbrook Park to play 4 x 4 festival football in preparation for the start of the league. Singh Sabha another local Barking team were in attendance along with players from Dagenham United and fun was had by all participants. Even the rain held off!!!

Ladies Chairman Debbie Moore said ‘These festival’s are a brilliant way of getting young girls interested in football, its non competitive and all the girls really enjoy each game, it’s a good way to get them used to playing  as part of a team.’ Essex FA have set up a local league to play competitive football in Barking and Dagenham and local borough’s.

Players are still required for this league and should any girl be interested in playing please contact Debbie Moore.
