Tiptree statement 20th September 2007

As expected Tiptree United were expelled today from the FA Vase - however, as Tiptree have until Tuesday to appeal our game against the re-instated Sileby Rangers will not take place until Wednesday. This means we will be playing Barkingside on Saturday (September 22nd) in a Essex Senior League Cup Group D game at Mayesbrook Park kick off 3pm.

Below is the FA Vase sub-committee's statement on the matter

An FA Vase Sub-Committee meeting held on 20 September 2007 considered the inclusion of two players of Tiptree United who were registered scholars with Northampton Town and Ipswich Town in breach of the Vase Rules as scholarship players are not eligible to play in the Vase.

Having considered the matter carefully, the Sub-Committee decided that Tiptree United have breached the FA Vase Rules by playing two ineligible players in the tie as the players were registered with The Football Association and The Football League as scholars with Northampton Town and Ipswich Town.

The Sub-Committee meeting decided in accordance with its discretionary powers that Tiptree United should be removed from the Competition and that Sileby Rangers be reinstated. No costs were included and no fines imposed on Tiptree United as removal from the Competition is considered as sufficient punishment.

The FA Carlsberg Vase tie in the Second Round Qualifying, Barking v Tiptree United due to be played on Saturday 22 September 2007 is cancelled and will now be played on Wednesday 26 September as Barking v Sileby Rangers.

Leyton friendly 7th September 2007

Last night at Mayesbrook Park saw a friendly against Leyton for the benefit of both First and Reserve Team players who need to sharpen their match fitness and get a run out under their belts. As it was Barking fielded a mixed bag of players and created much the better chances in the first half than the visitors. However at half time it was 0-0. The second half started briskly with Victor OMOGBEHIN scoring for Barking on 46 minutes. Following numerous changes Leyton got back into the game with an equaliser in the 70th minute and then ten minutes later they went ahead. Although Barking continued to create chances they were unable to draw level and the final score was 2-1 to Leyton.
