Squad news 29th October 2006

We have signed experienced goalkeeper Gavin King from Thurrock. Gavin has also played for, among others, Billericay and Chelmsford City and his experience, safe handling and quick and intelligent distribution contribute to our victory over Southend Manor.

We were also pleased to welcome back Bradley Jones after his injury.

Congratulation Wayne 29th October 2006

Congratulation to Wayne Vaughan whose twelfth goal of the season – an excellent penalty against Southend Manor – was his 50th for the club. Wayne’s goals have been a major contribution to our success in recent seasons. He has reached this landmark in 113 games – a strike rate of almost every second game.

Basildon game rearranged 26th October 2006

Tuesday nights Essex Senior League cup group game at Basildon United - which was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch - has been rearranged for Tuesday November 14th kick off 7:45pm. This means our trip to Burnham Ramblers in the Essex Thameside Trophy which was scheduled for the same night has been postponed and will now be played on Tuesday December 5th kick off 7:45pm. However, should we be successful in the Essex Senior cup this will be played on December 12th.

Essex cup draws 19th October 2006

At last nights Essex Senior League meeting the draws for the following competitions were made resulting in ties involving Barking:

Squad news 11th October 2006

Carl Bruce made his 99th appearance for us at Clacton so if he is involved at Hullbridge, he will reach his century.

Wayne Vaughan had to be substituted immediately after scoring the equaliser at Clacton but expects to be fit by Saturday.

Essex Senior cup draw 11th October 2006

The third round for the Essex Senior cup has been drawn and following last night's excellent win on penalties at Clacton Town we have been drawn away again, but it will be a shorter trip. We will visit Wadham Lodge to play Waltham Forest on Tuesday November 7th kick off 7:45pm

Reserves update 11th October 2006

The Reserves returned to league action last night when they met high flying Romford 3-1 at Mayesbrook Park - the win was achieved despite going behind early on and the sending off of Junior Konadu on 35, they hit back with two goals from Bradley Ross and one from Remi Nelson.

The win elevates the reserves to eleventh place in the Essex, Herts and Bordering Counties Combination with games in hand over their nearest rivals.

On Saturday they entertain Hanakins Farm at Mayesbrook Park in the first round of the Essex Premier Cup with a 3pm kick off.
