Management team 19th November 2007

Manager Rod Stringer has accepted an invitation to join struggling Isthmian (Ryman) League Division 1 North club Aveley and has taken his management team and most of our first team players with him. This is partly due to his frustration with Barking & Dagenham Council for their slow response to genuine offers regarding the future of the club from a consortium of people.

Following the departure of our previous management team, reserve team manager Dave Ross has stepped into the breach and is our new manager. He is assisted by former Clapton player Russell Sparry. Dave has been involved with the club for several years and has been very successful at youth and reserve level. He has deputised as first team manager on several occasions. At reserve level his team has won the Fred Budden Trophy. His youth teams have won the London Youth Cup and the Magnus Cup, been runnuers up in the Eastern Junior Alliance and the Alliance Cup, reached the semi final of the Essex Youth Cup and, starting in the qualifying rounds, reached the second round of the F A Youth Cup, losing narrowly to Colchester United.

Cup latest 5th November 2007

Next Wednesday's final league cup tie against Eton Manor has now been brought foward by a day to Tuesday November 13th kick-off 7:45pm. As Tilbury's Chadfields ground has been double booked the game will be played at Mayesbrook Park although it will still count as an away fixture. The draw for the quarter finals of the league cup was made last week and dependent on the result on the 13th we will either be either away to Sawbridgeworth or home to Burnham Ramblers in the first leg. In the quarter final of the Gordon Brasted memorial trophy we are away to Concord Rangers in a repeat of last seasons competition - the game will be played on Saturday November 24th kick-off 3pm.
