The Reserves set a new club record last week with the 2-0 victory against Southend Manor at Mayesbrook Park last Saturday of fourteen league games without defeat - Latest league table:-

| Injuries/Suspension 29th November 2002 |

Lee Richards - will be suspended for two games following his second dismissal of the season at Wivenhoe - he will miss the games on December 7th versus Yeading and December 10th versus Oxford City. Imran Khan has been ill but is now back in training.

Niall Ritchie has cemented his commitment to United by signing a contract. The Republic of Ireland under 19 International has made a good impression since coming into the team and is the latest in the line of ex-West Ham United youth players to join the Blues. The Reserves latest signing is Robert Still, son of John Still who played for Barking aged sixteen and went on to enjoy an illustrious career culminating in managing Barnet. Robert is also linked with Barnet but is doing work experience with Barking

| Ladies Under 16's reach final 24th November 2002 |
|
Barking Ladies Under 16's team will be awarded a bye into the Final of the London FA County Cup Final as Crystal Palace cried off on Saturday as they were unable to field a team. Barking will meet either Kent Magpies or Leyton Orient in March.

The Essex Saturday Premier cup third round tie which was due to be played at Mayesbrook Park on Wednesday 20th of November has now been changed to Saturday 16th of November (tomorrow) kick off 1:30pm at Wanstead's Old Parmiterians ground in Chingford. Despite both clubs agreeing to play next Wednesday the Essex FA insisted that the game must be played by this Saturday.

Development Manager Mark Harris has been busy as ever with two new initiatives. On December 2nd he accompanies Richard Thomas and his father Rob to All Saints School where, as part of the "Lads and Dads" course for boys and their fathers who have a difficult relationship, football coaching will be provided. The participants will be invited to United's home game with Yeading. On December 14th he visits Warren School where the Sixth Form architecture students are to plan and build a model of the ideal football clubhouse. Mark will provide them with a specification of a football club's requirements.

Congratulations to the Blues super supporter Brad Robinson who walked 28 miles on Saturday to Uxbridge to raise money for the Supporters Club terracing fund. Setting out at 5am he arrived before the team coach and was still fit enough to lend his voice to the proceedings.

Richard Thomas has expressed concern about the team's work rate. He said "The work rate is not there and we need to address that. It may be that the players are not fit enough - we may be blaming the lads but we may not have got them fit enough." He hailed the return of defender Ben Willis as excellent news and gave the following bulletin on the sick and wounded: Dean Allen - should be fit by Saturday, Billy Read - should be fit by Saturday, Dwayne Nickle – might be available for selection on Saturday but only returns to training tonight. Jamie Dormer - doubtful for Saturday due to illness, Richard Thomas - doubtful for Saturday due to Illness but will play if necessary as he did on Tuesday. Terry Scotchmer - likely to be out for some weeks

The Reserves Essex Saturday Premier Cup round 3 match against Wanstead Town has been rearranged for Wednesday November 23rd KO 7:45pm. Wanstead Town play in the Essex Intermediate League. The home match v Berkhamsted Town on Tuesday November 26th has been postponed due to Berko's cup commitments and will be re-scheduled. Secretary Roger Chilvers is trying to arrange the East Anglian Cup first round home tie with Southend Manor for Tuesday November 19th but this is still subject to confirmation. November 26th is now another possibility. The re-arranged league match at Hertford Town is still to be scheduled and could possibly be on one of these dates.

Steve Shaw has signed for Leyton Pennant - Ben Willis has returned from Ford United. Ben impressed during his last stint with the Blues in the promotion season of 2000-01 in which he made 43 appearances and scored five goals.

There was a double header of reserves games on Saturday, in the Essex & Herts Border Combination Div 1 at Mayesbrook Park there was a 6-0 win against at Concord Rangers and this moves the Reserves up to third place six points behind leaders Purfleet with three games in hand. Latest table below:-

While away in the London Intermediate Cup second round at Moonshot Athletic the Reserves were beaten 2-1, the winning goal for the home side coming in the 92nd minute.

Chairman Mao said that the longest journey starts with a single step. He was no doubt thinking of Barking's super supporter Brad Robinson who sets out at 5am on Saturday on a sponsored walk of 28 miles to Uxbridge for the away game in aid of the Supporters' Club terracing fund.

The Reserves Third Round Essex Premier Saturday Cup tie at home to Wanstead Town cannot be played on the due date of November 16th as the first team are at home and Wanstead have been offered Wednesday November 13th or 20th.
