Ladies head for Florida 26th May 2006

Barking Ladies Nicola Moore and Nicola Maggs are to spend three months in Orlando Florida playing their favourite game for the Orlando Falcons. Initial contact was made with Falcons owner Alejandre Richards back in February by e-mail and the result was the girls flying out to play for the Falcons for the summer season of 2006, there are a present twelve games scheduled with tournaments to be booked, their home games with the Falcons look likely to be played in Disney World of Sport Stadium.

Both girls have played competitive football since the age of 12 and have just finished the season with the Ladies. They will be playing all over Florida but mainly with evening kick offs due to the 100 degree heat and high humidity. Midfielder/Striker Nicola Moore said 'This is a brilliant opportunity and we are really looking foward to it As well as training with a new team, there will also be ladies from Ghana and Denmark arriving. Having trained with the Falcons once back in February whilst on holiday, I learnt a good few moves with the tough Brazilian coach – Tino and both Nic and myself are looking forward to improving our game tremendously’. Right Back Nicola Maggs said 'Although we have previously been on tour in Denmark, I have never been to America before and am really going to enjoy the experience, as well as take in some theme parks and hopefully have time to get a lovely tan! I am looking forward to meeting the new team and hope to do the team proud.'

The Ladies Management, Players and Officials wish the girls all the best and look forward to seeing them again in time for the new season.

Our new home 14th May 2006

Welcome to our new home on the internet. You will probably notice very few differences between this and our old address and the most important thing is the hyphen between Barking and the FC. There are a few pages missing but normal service will be resumed before the start of the new season.

Under 18's lose out in final 11th May 2006

The Under 18’s completed their long season this evening with disappointment in the Eastern Junior Alliance League cup final losing 3-0 against Billericay Town at Brentwood Town FC. Against a strong well organised side, a defensive error after only 14 seconds put Billericay ahead. Only some good saves from Mark Parker in the Barking goal saw the sides go into the break without any further scoring. Barking came out strong in the second half and both Remi Nelson and skipper Danny Cook had chances to reduce the arrears. On 68 minutes Billericay made it 2-0 when following an in-swinging corner, the Captain up from the back and stabbed home. Nine minutes later the game was over as a contest when a free kick was not dealt with by the Barking defence and it fell to an unmarked attacker who shot home.

Barking finished the season with only five defeats (two of them against Billericay Town and one against the professionals of Colchester United in the FA Cup by the odd goal in five)

Their achievements have been:

Eastern Junior Alliance League - Runners up
Magnus Cup - Winners
London FA Youth Cup – Winners
Essex FA Pelly Cup - Semi Finalists
Eastern Junior Alliance League Cup - Runners up
FA Youth Cup - Second round proper

The above is a credit to Manager Dave Ross, his assistant Bert Hoyte and all the players

Under 18's finish league season 8th May 2006

The Under 18's completed their league season yesterday with a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Brentwood at Mayesbrook Park. Barking took the lead following a tap home from Daniel Tapper, Brentwood soon equalised, but within minutes Bradley Ross put Barking back in front. Before half time Richard Ashie coolly slotted home to take in to half time a 3-1 lead. The second half was one way traffic and a further Richard Ashie and Kev Patel goals gave Barking a comfortable 5-1 victory.

Barking have now completed their league season finishing in a comfortable second place, four points behind Waltham Forest with two games in hand. With successful cup runs, this has hindered us completing our league campaign. The Blues now go in to their final game when they travel to Brentwood Town to take on Essex Youth Cup winners Billericay Town in the Eastern Junior Alliance League Cup Final.

All support will be welcomed.

Reserves end with a win 5th May 2006

The Reserves completed their league programme on Thursday when they beat Maldon Town 2-0 in a highly entertaining game. It was a surprise that the score was 0-0 at half time this despite numerous close chances by Barking. On 75 minutes Tommy Mottram was brought down in the box and Matty Toms slotted home. Three minutes later a great strike by Tommy Mottram gave the Maldon keeper no chance.
