A plaque bearing Peter Webster's name was presented to Dennis Elliott by Kathryn Webster on behalf of Victoria and Kathryn to mark the work carried out by Dennis following the tragic death of our Chairman last December.
The John Ford Memorial Trophy for Loyalty was presented to Ron Debenham to mark his long and distinguished service to the Club.
The following speech read by Jay Devereux prior to the presentation is worthy of reproducing here :
"For those of you that never knew him, John Ford was a remarkable man. A great club servant as Player and Assistant Manager, John was a man of warmth, generosity and humour. Tonight we present the John Ford Memorial Trophy for Loyalty to someone who has dedicated his life to serving this football club. There cannot be many men anywhere in football that have served a club as long or as well as this man has served Barking. This man shares many of the characteristics used to describe John Ford, so it's fitting that tonight we present the John Ford Memorial Trophy for Loyalty to Ron Debenham."
As Billy Read has announced his retirement from the Club and senior football there was a presentation to Billy marking his time at the club and his service with Dennis Elliott at Ford United. Our best wishes go out to Billy on his retirement and congratulations to Billy and Donna on the birth of their daughter Madeline. |
