Congratulations to our Reserve side who yesterday at Victoria Road won the Brian Hitchings Memorial trophy by beating neighbours Dagenham & Redbridge's academy side managed by former Barking player and manager Jay Devereux 2-1. Bradley Ross was the marksman with two goals bringing his total for the season to 13. . The first Ross goal came on 23 with Ryan Imbert equalizing on the hour mark, the winning goal for Barking came with 12 minutes to go
The Brian Hitchings trophy is played for annually between the Essex, Herts & Bordering Combined Counties winners and runners-up, the Fred Budden Trophy winners (which was Barking last season) and the E&HBCC Combination Cup winners from last season. In the semi-final the Reserves beat last season’s champions Heybridge Swifts also by 2-1. |
