| Monica Wilson 21st August 2003 |
The Club are very sad to report the death of Monica Wilson, wife of Les Wilson - long serving club stalwart and among other things, the man with the microphone. Les missed most of our pre season games due to the illness of his wife of 60 years Monica who eventually succumbed after bearing her final illness with typical courage and dignity.
No words can begin to compensate for the loss of a lifetime partner but we hope that Les’s renewed involvement in football will help to assuage his grief at least temporarily. There will be a funeral mass for Monica at 10.0 am on Thursday 28th August at St Thomas More Church in Longbridge Road followed by cremation at the South Essex Crematorium, Upminster at 11.30 am. |

| Enfield game off 14th August 2003 |
Saturday's opening game against Enfield FC at Mayesbrook Park has been postponed due to their suspension from the Ryman League. According to the Non-League Fans Online website it appears that Enfield were behind with their payments to landlords Boreham Wood and funds were sought to cover the arrears and for the upcoming season 2003-04. With no monies forthcoming Enfield are now homeless and have subsequently been suspended. Any updates concerning the rescheduling of the game will appear here in due course. |
