| The Reserves are runners up 23rd April 2008 |
Congratulations to Manager John Bowling, his assistants Steve Toms and Michael Thompson and all of the players on last night securing runners up spot in the Essex, Herts & Bordering Counties Combination without kicking a ball. As Brentwood tumbled to defeat against Waltham Abbey it meant that the pressure was off for Saturdays home game with Billericay Town. Following this game there will be a presentation of medals.
The Reserves also this season reached the semi-final of the Fred Budden Trophy and won the Brian Hitchings Memorial Cup beating Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1 last December. |

| Reserves look to clinch runners up spot 20th April 2008 |
This coming Saturday the Reserves will be looking to clinch runners up spot in the Essex, Herts & Bordering Counties Combination following yesterday's 3-0 win over Burnham Ramblers. With Great Wakering completing their season yesterday with a defeat at Stansted, Brentwood who have a game in hand and are four points behind theoretically have a chance to overtake us should we fail to win against Billericay Town on Saturday and they beat Waltham Abbey on Tuesday and Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.

| Barking Ladies host under 10’s football festival 7th April 2008 |
Mayesbrook Park was awash with girls on last Saturday (April 5th) when eight teams from across the county attended a football festival hosted by Barking Ladies FC. Working alongside the Essex FA, Barking held their first football festival, playing 4 x 4 friendly matches for all girls aged between 8 and 10.
Sharon Brownlie from the Essex FA said "We are keen to get girls aged 10 and under interested in football and holding these festival’s are a brilliant way of letting the girls try out football. We have been holding free sessions in primary schools around Barking and Dagenham using Barking’s female level 2 coaches, in an effort to set up a team for the start of next season to play in an all new league solely set up for U10’s. The festival has been a great success and Barking will be holding festivals every five weeks until September."
A total of nine teams played friendly matches lasting up 15 minutes, giving all participants the chance to experience what matches feel like. Barking Ladies are still looking for girls aged 8 and 10 to complete their team in preparation for September. Any girl interested in joining in please give Debbie Moore from Barking Ladies a call on 07778384478 for more information. |
