Presentation evening awards - Monday 6th June 2011

Chas Liddiard - supporters player of the yearOn Saturday evening at the Parkside community centre the club held a presentation evening, this was the first time in many years such an event has been held. It was an opportunity for players, officials and supporters from the male teams to mix on a social level away from the pitch.

Besides the delicious buffet and awards, there was a raffle which yielded a range of prizes for the lucky winners and two items of West Ham United memorabilia were auctioned off for a combined total of £155.

Incoming chairman Rob O’Brien’s speech urged everyone from all levels to get involved with the club as much as possible as we target a return to the Ryman league and in particular the current work that is being carried out at Mayesbrook Park including the new bar for which work is well under way.

On her final engagement as chairman of Barking FC Gill Faherty thanked everybody on behalf herself and husband John who is also retiring from his role as secretary for their help and support over the last four years. A presentation was made to Gill and John to thank them for all the time and hard work they have put into the club since taking the helm in 2007 and guiding us through some very choppy waters.

Our best wishes and thanks go out to John and Gill on their “retirement” and look forward to their presence as supporters for many years to come.
