Today’s game with Burnham Ramblers saw another of our players join the 100 club by completing a century of appearances.
Chris Clark has been Barking's number 1 for the last three seasons and in that time has turned in a string of eyecatching displays between the posts.
Prior to the match club president Ron Debenham presented Chris (pictured right) with a silver salver to mark the occasion.
Chris's first appearance came against Ford United in September 2003 which was a friendly. His first senior appearance was a unused sub in a 5-0 defeat away to Cheshunt on September 13th 2003 and his first start was also a game to forget. A London Senior cup tie against Cray Wanderers in November of the same year ended in a 3-0 defeat. However, Chris was also part of Tony Myers Reserve team who were runners up in the Essex & Herts league for 04/05 season. Finishing the campaign wiith five consecutive clean sheets.
Upon on our demotion to the Essex Senior League in 2006 we encountered Chris as an opponent as he was by that time playing for Barkingside and during a league cup tie in September 2007 was stretchered from the field after injuring himself denying Barking a goal.
In the summer of 2009 Chris rejoined the Blues and has proved time and again to be a consistent performer and a excellent keeper.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris all his efforts for the club.
Here's to many more appearances
