Under 18's bow out of FA Youth Cup - Tuesday September 6th 2011

ROCKS FAIL TO ROLL OVER

Last night at Rookery Hill our Under 18’s were beaten 4-1 in the FA Youth Cup preliminary round by East Thurrock United in their first game of the season.

Stuart Cook has supplied a summary of the evenings proceedings

The young Blues opened the scoring with a Harry CULHAM a penalty on four minutes. The  home side made it 1-1 after 10 minutes, Barking continued to have the better chances in the first half hitting the bar, missing an open goal and having a goal ruled offside that looked suspiciously onside, The Rocks made it 2-1 on 43 with a penalty of their own scored by Oni.

East Thurrock had the better of the second half in the wind and rain and scored two good goals through Oni and Cook. Barking never gave up and had three good chances in the final ten  minutes.

The Barking team was a mix of the Under 17s and Under 18s who only met up on the day of the match and had not trained together due to the early date of the match and no league games as yet been played.
