 Rob O’Brien (pictured right) has provided the latest news on our scholarship scheme which is now getting underway.
"We had around 30 players of decent standard that trialled with us during the February half term. More players have since contacted the club.
We were very pleased with their standard, effort and commitment during the day.
The weather was in line with current conditions but the players copied really well.
All these players were invited back for the trials at Easter time, along with other players that have expressed an interest.
We are looking for players of good standard and ones that are expecting 3-4 A-C's in the forthcoming GCSE exam's in the summer or boys that have a merit in the First Diploma in Sport.
We are looking to put together a good squad of players that will do the club proud.
Off the pitch things are progressing, meetings with the council are progressive, our search for 'On Site' classroom facilities is at its final stage and positive communication with the college is nearing conclusion.
The future is looking good for all i.e. the club, our local community, the players, the college and the LBBD Council."
The Easter trial dates will be released shortly.
