It is with great sadness that we announce the death of another long serving and stalwart activist and supporter of Barking Football Club. Norman Dean (pictured right - Gavin Ellis/TGSPHOTO) died this morning after bravely battling a respiratory disease for many years.
Norman was introduced to the club many years ago by former press officer Terry Horgan, another for whom the bell tolled far too early.
Norman was a regular contributor to the club programme which he eventually edited and his whimsically humorous articles included features on catering and toilet facilities at the various grounds that we visited under the title ‘Goalmouth Gourmet’.
He continued to edit the programme as long as he could even when no longer able to attend matches.
He is very much missed.
