 We have sadly learnt today that Saturday’s game against Enfield 1893 was Mequel de Souza’s last game for Barking FC.
In an e-mail to coach Neil Day – “Migsy” as he is better known stated - “My back has seized up from Saturday's game and is causing immense discomfort.” he goes onto say “I definitely won't be able to play Wednesday and now have doubts if I should have played on Saturday that game was very competitive for me. Truly loved smashing the forwards all over the pitch, every second of it.” That last sentence shows that his desire to play football has not diminished. He closes his e-mail by asking Neil to “pass on my thanks to the Board, Steve, Alan and team mates, it’s been a great season. I wish you all the best for the up and coming games.”
The club would like to thank Mequel for his services this season, wish him all the very best for the future and in the short term hope his back is better soon.
