 The Reserves manager Rob O'Brien (right) has asked for the following message to placed on this website:
"I found out today that one of the Barking FC players has lost his Mother to Cancer this week.
Jovan Laronde, who is 21 years old lost his mother to this terrible disease. Jovan has been a valuable player over the last two seasons and his dedication has been fantastic.
Over the past three months Jovan had told me that he would be missing the odd training session and Game to escort his mum to hospital for chemotherapy. He had also turned down some coaching work that I had offered him, despite needing the money; he chose to help his mum.
I'm sure you are as shocked as I am and our thoughts are with Jovan, this brave young man, who will need all our support over the coming months. I will do all I can to encourage him to continue his playing career, if he wants to.
I have a Sympathy card that all the players can sign on Thursday which I will send to him."
Our thoughts are with Jovan at this difficult time.
