Barking Football Club is sad to announce that striker Jared Small has left the Blues to join Ryman League Division One North side Tilbury. Jared, who scored 12 goals in a total in 64 appearances across this and last season, made his debut for Barking at home to Sawbridgeworth at the start of the 2008/09 season and by strange coincidence his last performance was in the same fixture last Saturday week.
Jared was the leading scorer at Mayesbrook this term with seven goals but he will be remembered as much as for the quality of his goals as for the quantity. Jared’s last two goals for the Blues were a stunning volley from 25 yards at home to Tiptree on 23 January and an unbelievable shot from down by the corner flag at Mauritius Sports on 2nd February.
Jared was a popular member of the squad and while sorry to lose him everyone at Barking Football Club wishes this talented young man the very best of luck in the future.
