Janaury 14th - Romford build-up

The league leaders come to town Saturday and a stab at ending their unbeaten record should be a big incentive for the lads. Credit to Romford it's a record to be proud of and a testimony to the meticulous approach of their Management Team.. One thing for certain we'll need to be on top of our game to create a shock and that's the challenge for all concerned.

Once again it hasn't been ideal preparation, our last league game seems like a distant memory and most training has taken place on frozen pitches, but I’m sure all teams have had their problems. A few key players missing for this game but it gives a chance for others to step up and stake their claim so no excuses on that front either.

But at least we’re not going into this one completely cold despite the recent weather. We hosted Waltham Forest in a hastily arranged friendly on Tuesday and this proved a worthwhile venture It's often hard to read too much into these games but there were promising signs before sloppy defending let us down second half. Some decent performances on the night. others didn't do themselves justice, but overall the team can be pleased with their efforts against Ryman opposition.

Some selection headaches for Steve before Saturday and that's a good thing with competition for places now hotting up, the squad is now getting the size we're looking for so hopefully we can get the right blend on the day.
