February 9th - A busy week ahead

A busy week ahead, weather permitting, as we enter a crucial stage of the season. Plenty to play for as well, progression in the Thameside Trophy and more importantly six precious points up for grabs in the dog fight at the foot of the table.

If the league points are our priority, we won't be taking Brimsdown lightly either, we don't like losing so we'll be giving it our best shot. It also gives an opportunity to stake a claim, there's players on the edge of this squad, we've now got strength in depth so it's it's their chance to deliver.

Another gameless Saturday but we trained on a semi frozen pitch, quality was good-certainly better than Benno's reffing, even the Gaffa got involved before being wiped out so the commitment was definitely there. Four backroom staff at training with Deano now on board, shows a step forward in professionalism at the club. Have been impressed with the Reserves set up as well and along with two excellent physio's it makes for plenty of reasons for optimism at the moment.

Onto Mauritius Saturday and a complacent approach will be our biggest danger, 4-2 winners v Burnham last time out says it all - very dangerous opposition and on their day one of the best footballing sides in the league. Hullbridge Tuesday and on paper a different type of game, some comments passed regarding the recent postponement and hopefully this will add fuel to our fire - again tough opponents this will be a battle so hopefully lads up for it on the night.
