October 7th - A 'BRIM' FUL OF OG's ON THE 45

To be ruthless in this assessment we lost this game between the 25th and 45th minute, shooting ourselves in the foot with a bizarre own goal right on half time. It all started so brightly as well, 2-0 and cruising we lost our shape, lost a degree of discipline and crucially gave away a soft goal when we should have gone in at the break with a huge psychological advantage.

Need to start killing games off when ahead, even if this means safety first measures, if we'd kept our shape for 90 minutes we would have won this game even with ten men - that's the bottom line and the harsh truth. Must improve our discipline and I include myself in this as the Management set the example, firstly by detaching ourselves from poor officiating and treat it as part and parcel of every match at this level, and secondly by sticking rigidly to our shape and not panicking when things go against us as they regularly have of late.

Have to take the rough with the smooth at football, so hopefully plenty of smooth coming our way in the weeks ahead starting next Saturday at Hargraves Park as we meet an in form Stansted team. Have had our share of setbacks recently but I firmly believe these setbacks will make our resolve even stronger. Can't keep blaming Ref's and Lady Luck for our misfortune, yes it does seemed like we're jinxed but need to dig even deeper, stick together and I’ve absolutely no doubt the results will come. Have been playing some great football in spells, we have the personnel to go a long way in this league, add belief, consistency and desire to the terrific team spirit and we could be a real force to be reckoned with.
