Barking FC were formed in opposition to Woodville as their players were not of the town of Barking, they started the season playing their home games at the Eastbury Field but in January 1896 moved to Movers Lane - but this move could only be temporary and they needed to raise monies for a new ground.
Per Colm Kerrigan's book "East London: A hotbed of football" Barking Exceslior changed their name to Barking FC sometime after the 1894/95 season.
